This CIA document discusses the principal leftist oriented human rights groups operating in Uruguay. These include, amongst others, the Peace and Justice Service, the Group of Family Members of the Disappeared, and the Secretariat of Lawyers for Amnesty in Uruguay. These groups are devoted to exposing human rights crimes committed during military rule and bringing those guilty to justice.
