This memorandum addressed to the US Ambassador to Argentina reports on a meeting between the Regional Security Officer of the US Diplomatic Security Service and a member of the Argentine intelligence services. The Argentine intelligence agent revealed top secret information that the Argentine military intelligence (601 Battalion) had contacted their Brazilian military intelligence counterparts for permission to conduct a mission to arrest two Montoneros arriving from Mexico. Both of the Montoneros members were captured alive in Rio de Janeiro and returned to Argentina, where they were being detained at the Army's secret jail, Campo de Mayo.
