This telegram from the US Embassy in Buenos Aires to the State Department reports on the situation of Argentine refugees in Brazil. More than 1,000 Argentine citizens are seeking asylum in Brazil and many of them apparently fled Argentina after being detained for interrogation and being subsequently released. Whilst some countries, like Bolivia, are apparently cooperating with Argentine authorities in returning Argentine suspects, Brazil has not yet repatriated any Argentine asylum seekers back to Argentina.
