The US State Department writes to the US Embassy in Buenos Aires after a news despatch informing that the bullet-riddled bodies of four Uruguayan nationals, including Zelmar Michelini and Héctor Gutiérrez Ruiz, had been found in an abandoned car. The despatch also alleged the potential cooperation between the Argentine military government and those of Chile and Uruguay in "getting rid of troublesome exiles."
